Happy Arts NATUREtainment

This wonderful outdoor program engages children in performing and creative arts with a powerful blend of social-emotionl learning (SEL), literacy, and environmental education to foster mindfulness, creativity & a love of literacy in early learning and elementary school ages children.

This one day program is suitable for children ages 5-10 years old, and cultivates fosters resourcefulness and an open mindset.

Upon arrival students are given a creativity kit, containing all the supplies for the activities. The program starts off with icebreaker games, jokes light entertainment while learners are settling down.  Following this is our  short mindful moments  session teaching learners to harness their breath and intention to stay focus and enjoy the present.

The program continues and kicks off with an interactive presentation of an illustrated story, leading  into a discussion about a variety of social emotional concepts. Themes include kindness, feelings, positive thinking, perserverance, acceptance, empathy, and diversity.

​

Following the interactive presentation, we move into the creative activities designed by HeARThletistry Playtent to reinforce the book's messaging.  Activities include  and are not limited to drama, song and dance and arts and crafts workshops, games and obstacle courses. The workshop ends with a self- reflection, a 15 minute dance party, small exhibition or parade of participants achievements and a group clean up.
